We are partnering with a market leading digital travel company in their search for a Financial Controller within the Reporting and Operations team. This role is based in Manchester and will run for 6 months initially, offering hybrid working and a day rate of up to £450 per day via umbrella (or PAYE equivalent) for the right candidate.
As the Reporting Financial Controller, you will be the go-to technical accounting expert, and will be accountable for all group reporting requirements and supporting the end-to-end external audit process. You will be expected to have a working understanding of the full balance sheet and P&L and the ability to challenge others on accounting treatment in order to ensure the integrity of reported numbers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Own the relationship with the Group Reporting function including continuously improving the quality and detail of the submissions and schedules to the Group Finance functions.
- Support in the management of the audit process: acting as a key liaison for the auditors; coordinating audit deliverables.
- Have a working understanding across the whole balance sheet and P&L in order to ensure appropriate accounting standards are applied.
- Preparation of technical accounting papers to address items such as provisions/judgements, implementation of new accounting standards.
- Maintenance of key SOX controls relating to Reporting, including local GAAP to US GAAP checks.
- Help to ensure financial systems and processes are developed and maintained and participate in projects.
- Support in the financial review of new contracts
This role could be right for you if you have:
- Full ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification
- UK GAAP and US GAAP experience
- Strong technical accounting experience within large organisations
