Fostering Panel Advisor

Pay Rate: £37 per hour
Barnsley Council is actively seeking an experienced and dedicated Fostering Panel Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate will be a qualified social worker with a proven track record, capable of providing independent and professional advice to the Fostering Panel and the Agency Decision Maker (ADM). This pivotal role is central to maintaining the high standards of care provided to children in foster care within the council.
The successful applicant will play a crucial part in the fostering process, working to ensure all decisions are child-centred and compliant with current regulations. This is a role that demands strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of fostering procedures and policies. A minimum of three days a week on-site in Barnsley is required for this position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Upholding and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Quality-assuring panel reports and fostering processes to maintain high standards.
Facilitating and guiding Fostering Panel meetings to ensure clear and considered decisions.
Providing expert advice on case permanency and long-term planning for children.
Contributing to the development and review of fostering policies.
Assisting in the recruitment and training of new Fostering Panel members.
Collaborating with social workers to promote child-centred planning and positive outcomes.
