Location: Folkestone
Rate: £400 - £500 per day (PAYE)
Contract: 12 Months Minimum
The Role
We are looking for a heavy-civil General Foreman to lead the site delivery of a major concrete viaduct in Folkestone. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all site activities, coordinating labour, plant, and materials to ensure the reinforced concrete structures are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality.
You will be the bridge between the engineering team and the site gangs, turning structural drawings into a high-cadence production reality.
Key Responsibilities
Site Leadership: Manage and motivate multi-disciplinary gangs (Steelfixers, Carpenters, and Concretors) to meet daily production targets.
Concrete Execution: Supervise the delivery of major RC elements-from deep foundations and pile caps to the casting of viaduct piers and decks.
Plant & Logistics: Coordinate all on-site plant movements, including concrete pumps, cranes, and delivery vehicles, ensuring minimal downtime.
Safety First: Lead daily briefings and Tool Box Talks. Ensure all RAMS are followed to the letter and that the site remains a safe environment for all workers.
Work Sequencing: Manage the "look-ahead" programmes, ensuring that formwork is ready, rebar is tied, and inspections are completed before the wagons arrive.
Temporary Works: Oversee the installation and strike of heavy-duty formwork and falsework systems.
Requirements
Structures Experience: Minimum 12 months experience specifically on bridges, viaducts, or heavy RC structures.
Concrete Expertise: A deep understanding of RC construction sequences, including rebar fixing, shuttering, and large-pour management.
Certifications: Valid CSCS (Gold or Black), SSSTS or SMSTS, and First Aid.
The Package
Rate: £400 - £500 per day (PAYE).
Duration: 12-month minimum contract.
Stability: A long-term project with a clear pipeline of structural work.
