General Support Worker (Non-Medical Helper)
Location: Carlisle
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour
Working Hours: Flexible part-time hours (early mornings and afternoons)
About the Role
We are seeking reliable, proactive, and compassionate individuals to provide non-academic general support to students in higher education. This role involves assisting students with practical daily tasks around campus to ensure they can fully participate in their academic schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting students with carrying and transporting specialist equipment, study materials, and personal belongings to and from classes.
- Acting as a visual or physical guide to help students navigate safely between different campus buildings, lecture halls, and facilities.
- Ensuring students arrive punctually to scheduled sessions during early morning and afternoon hours.
- Maintaining clear, professional boundaries and upholding student confidentiality at all times.
- Communicating effectively with the support coordination team regarding scheduling or operational needs.
Requirements
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and time-management skills.
- Friendly, approachable manner with strong interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to assist with carrying equipment and walking across campus premises.
- Experience supporting individuals with additional needs or disabilities is beneficial, but not essential.
- A commitment to supporting independence and maintaining professional boundaries.
