We are seeking a high-caliber Qualified Geography Teacher (QTS) for a permanent position at our partner Secondary School in Cambridge. This is a school that prides itself on global citizenship and environmental stewardship. They are looking for a specialist who can lead students through the complexities of climate change, urbanisation, and tectonic hazards, fostering a sense of curiosity about the world they inhabit.
Your Responsibilities
As a specialist in the Geography department, you will:
- Engaging Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to A-Level delivery.
- GCSE Success: Lead Year 11 cohorts through their exam specifications (AQA/Edexcel/OCR), focusing on physical landscapes, human challenges, and geographical applications.
- Fieldwork Leadership: Organise and lead local and national fieldwork opportunities, ensuring students can apply their classroom learning to real-world environments.
- GIS Integration: Utilise Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and modern digital mapping tools to bring 21st-century technology into the classroom.
- Inclusive Scaffolding: Differentiate complex global issues to ensure all learners-regardless of ability or background-can engage with the curriculum.
- Sustainability Advocacy: Play a key role in the school's "Green Initiatives," encouraging students to engage with sustainability and environmental protection.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Global Perspective: A deep passion for the subject and the ability to link classroom topics to current global events and challenges.
- Analytical Skills: The ability to teach students how to interpret data, evaluate sources, and form evidence-based arguments.
