We are seeking a high-caliber Qualified Geography Teacher (QTS) for a permanent position at our partner Secondary School in Peterborough, commencing this September. This school is committed to fostering global citizenship and is looking for a specialist who can challenge students to think critically about human-environment interactions, from local urban planning to global climate systems.
Your Responsibilities
- Academic Excellence: Plan and deliver high-impact Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to lead A-Level cohorts in physical and human geography.
- Inquiry-Based Learning: Foster a deep understanding of geographical processes, encouraging students to evaluate conflicting viewpoints and formulate well-supported arguments.
- GCSE Strategy: Lead Year 11 groups through their exam specifications (AQA/Edexcel), utilising precise data tracking to identify learning gaps and implement effective interventions.
- Fieldwork Leadership: Design and lead essential fieldwork investigations, ensuring students can apply classroom theory to real-world environments and develop primary data collection skills.
- Digital Geography: Integrate Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital mapping tools into the curriculum to equip students with modern analytical skills.
- Pastoral Stewardship: Act as a Form Tutor, providing consistent academic and emotional support to a dedicated group of learners.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
