Contract: Temporary, Immediate Start until December 31st, 2025
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Building Fabric Maintenance Engineer to carry out essential planned and reactive maintenance within a busy hospital environment.
The Role & Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for maintaining the physical condition and safety compliance of the hospital estate.
Fire Door Safety: Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and essential repairs on all Fire Doors to ensure strict regulatory compliance and safety standards.
Repairs: Conduct a variety of reactive and planned repairs, including:
General maintenance and repair of internal and external doors and windows.
Repair and installation of various types of flooring (e.g., floor tiles, vinyl).
General Fabric Maintenance: Complete a range of minor carpentry, joinery, and general 'make good' duties across the site.
Compliance: Ensure all work meets hospital standards, health & safety requirements, and is completed within agreed deadlines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Fabric Engineer, Handyman, or Multi-Skilled Technician, preferably in a healthcare or large commercial environment.
Strong practical skills in carpentry, general joinery, and remedial repairs.
Experience with Fire Door maintenance and certification protocols is highly desirable.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
