Randstad is currently recruiting on behalf of a London borough for a skilled and experienced Head of Service to lead and oversee services for Learning Disabilities and Mental Health within Adult Social Care.
This is a key strategic leadership position responsible for managing complex care services, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering improved outcomes for residents across Hackney. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain high standards of service delivery while adapting to a changing social care landscape.
Evidence of significant relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
A degree, comparable qualification, or demonstrable analytical, report writing, and lateral thinking skills appropriate for the level of the post
Evidence of a relevant management qualification or equivalent senior-level management training
A relevant social or health care qualification (e.g. Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy) with current registration is desirable but not essential
You must have a strong track record of success in senior leadership roles within large and complex organisations, including evidence of:
Managing a range of assessment and care management functions
Ensuring delivery of high-quality services and achieving positive outcomes for service users
Leading and implementing operational change to enhance service delivery
Building and maintaining strong partnerships across councils, NHS bodies, and other external stakeholders
Delivering customer-focused services, meeting demands under pressure and tight deadlines
Successfully managing significant budgets and resources, including staff teams, commissioning, and capital resources
Strategic planning, including anticipating changes and setting long-term service priorities (12 months and beyond)
Leading and motivating staff at a senior management level, promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
