The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join a well-regarded secondary school in Leeds as a Head of Year. This is a full-time position,as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be a pivotal figure in the school's pastoral team, responsible for the academic progress, personal development, and overall well-being of a specific year group. You will lead a dedicated team of form tutors, and your role will involve close collaboration with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure every student has the support they need to succeed.

Requirements
- Proven track record of experience in a pastoral role, such as a Year Leader or similar position
- In-depth understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection
- A clear and enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Responsibilities
- Leading and managing the year group tutor team.
- Monitoring and tracking the academic and pastoral progress of all students in the year group.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.
- Managing student behaviour and ensuring adherence to school policies.
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student well-being.
- Organising and leading year group assemblies and events.
- Conducting regular meetings with the year team to review progress and share best practices.
- Providing pastoral support and guidance to students, including those who are vulnerable.
- Contributing to the school's overall strategic direction and improvement plan.
- Ensuring the safety and welfare of all students in the year group.
