Randstad Tuition Services is launching an impactful initiative aimed at tackling chronic absenteeism and educational disengagement. We are seeking a compassionate, nd resilient Inclusion and Attendance Coordinator to lead efforts in re-engaging vulnerable students and removing barriers to learning.This is a multi-faceted role that bridges the gap between home and school. You will combine data-informed attendance tracking with hands-on, outreach-meeting students and families where they are to rebuild trust, and establish sustainable pathways back into mainstream education.
Key ResponsibilitiesTargeted Outreach & Attendance Support
- Home & Community Engagement: Conduct home visits and community outreach to engage persistent absentees and hard-to-reach families.
- Re-engagement Plans: Design and implement step-by-step reintegration packages for students returning to mainstream education or alternative provisions.
- Barrier Identification: Work directly with families to identify root causes of non-attendance (e.g anxiety, SEN, family dynamics) and create practical solutions.
Coordination & Multi-Agency Collaboration
- Inter-Agency Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between the school, social care, local authority attendance teams, SENCOs.
- Child's Voice: Ensure the student's perspectives, goals, and needs remain central to all attendance and inclusion strategies.
Inclusion & Student Mentorship
- Relational Support: Build trusting, dynamic relationships with young people facing complex challenges to restore confidence and academic motivation.
- Restorative Practice: De escalate challenging situations using restorative techniques to encourage accountability, self-regulation, and positive behaviour.
- Inclusion Strategies: Support the implementation of alternative learning arrangements and internal inclusion spaces to minimise exclusions.
Safeguarding, Reporting & Compliance
- Attendance Tracking: Maintain accurate logs and risk assessments for all outreach activities and interventions.
- Safeguarding: Strictly adhere to school safeguarding policies, identifying risk factors early and escalating concerns appropriately.
We are seeking a structured practitioner with a strong background in education, youth work, or social care who can balance administrative coordination with community engagement:
- Relevant Experience: Proven record of working with hard-to-reach young people, managing complex family dynamics, and improving attendance or inclusion outcomes.
- Systemic Thinking & Organisation: Ability to track attendance trends, coordinate multi-agency responses, and manage a varied caseload efficiently.
- Resilience & De-escalation: Calm under pressure with experience handling challenging behaviour using trauma-informed or restorative approaches.
- Collaborative Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills to build instant rapport with parents, school leadership, SEN Departments, and social workers.
- DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to undergo one).
