We are seeking two enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant mainstream secondary school in Rivington, Bolton (BL6 7RU). These full-time roles involve working across Year 8 to Year 11, providing essential classroom assistance and targeted academic intervention. These positions offer long-term stability, with excellent opportunities to secure permanent contracts for top performers.
Successful candidates will work closely with subject teachers to support pupils across various academic subjects, helping them overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of resources and learning materials tailored to pupil needs across Years 8 to 11.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to organise appropriate learning activities and maintain a positive environment.
- Liaise with Teachers, TAs, and pastoral support staff to ensure pupil welfare and progress.
- Work closely with other support staff across the school.
- Work with full classes, small intervention groups, and pupils on a one-to-one basis.
- Monitor and track pupil engagement, supporting academic progress, confidence, and positive behaviour.
Essential Requirements
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Essential: Grade 4 (C) or above in GCSE English & Maths.
- Experience of working with secondary-aged young people (Years 8-11).
- Ability to engage with, inspire, and build strong rapport with teenagers.
- Be proactive, adaptable, and flexible in your supporting style.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
