Knowsley Council is seeking dedicated and experienced Social Workers to join their Children Looked After Team during a pivotal period of transformation. Job Summary
- Overseeing children who are looked after by the local authority.
- Managing cases for children subject to full care orders or those currently within active care proceedings.
- Developing strong, empathetic bonds with children, young people, and their families to ensure their voices are heard.
- Contributing to Knowsley's "journey to good" by embedding high standards of practice and continuous learning.
- Working alongside a supportive leadership team and a dedicated Practice Improvement Team to achieve the best outcomes for vulnerable youth.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of children looked after, ensuring all statutory visits and reviews are completed to a high standard.
- Prepare detailed reports for court and attend hearings to provide expert testimony regarding a child's best interests.
- Update and implement comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and educational needs of children in care.
- Participate in four-weekly reflective supervision and monthly "MyTime" career development sessions.
- Collaborate with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police, to provide holistic support for young people.
