Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to lead a technical team and ensure the seamless operation of critical building services? Do you have a proven track record in low voltage (LV) systems and a commitment to operational excellence?
We're looking for a highly skilled and proactive Technical Supervisor with a strong Electrical Bias to lead our on-site maintenance team. This pivotal role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and the ability to ensure the continuous, compliant operation of complex building systems.
What You'll Do
As Technical Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management, technical oversight, and performance of our multi-skilled engineering team. You'll ensure the delivery of high-quality maintenance services, strict adherence to all regulations, and seamless operational support. Your responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership & Management: Directly supervise, motivate, and develop a team of multi-skilled engineers. You'll plan, schedule, and allocate daily tasks, planned preventative maintenance (PPMs), and reactive work orders, ensuring efficient resource use and timely completion. You'll also manage team rosters and foster a culture of continuous professional development and safety.
Electrical Technical Expertise: Provide expert hands-on electrical fault-finding, diagnostics, and rectification for complex building systems. This includes power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, control panels, motors, and associated M&E plant. You'll be the go-to electrical authority for your site.
Low Voltage (LV) Systems Management: Oversee the maintenance, operation, and fault diagnosis of low voltage (LV) distribution systems, switchgear, and associated infrastructure. You'll ensure safe working practices during all LV operations.
Compliance & Health & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations, all relevant statutory regulations, and company health and safety policies. You'll actively manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and ensure accurate Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) are in place.
Quality & Standards: Conduct regular quality inspections of completed works by both in-house staff and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to specifications and industry best practices.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all maintenance documentation within Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) systems or site logbooks. You'll generate comprehensive reports on team performance, asset status, and compliance.
Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise effectively with clients, building occupants, and other contractors, providing professional updates and ensuring minimal disruption.
What We're Looking For
Electrical Qualifications: Hold a recognised degree or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Engineering or equivalent, with current 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
LV Experience: Direct, demonstrable experience in the maintenance, fault finding, and safe operation of low voltage (LV) distribution systems.
Technical Acumen: Strong diagnostic and hands-on fault-finding skills across a broad range of electrical and general M&E building services.
Health & Safety: Excellent understanding and practical application of UK Health & Safety legislation. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate is highly desirable.
IT Proficiency: Competent in using CAFM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, motivate, coach, and manage a team effectively.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of professional interaction at all levels.
Driving Licence: Full UK Driving Licence (if the role is mobile or requires travel between sites).
