The Opportunity
As a Shift Engineer, you'll be an essential part of a small, dynamic team. The role offers a great balance between reactive and planned preventative maintenance, with a strong focus on proactive work. You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in projects and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will expose you to a wide variety of machinery, including:
Conveyors
Elevators
Pumps
Packaging lines
Gearboxes
Motors
Pneumatics
The Package
Salary: £52,000 per year, which includes a shift allowance.
Bonus: A company performance bonus of 10%.
Shift Pattern: You will work 12-hour shifts from 6 am to 6 pm on a "4 on, 4 off" rotation. The pattern is 2 lots of day shifts followed by 2 lots of nights (4 days 4 off, 4 days 4 off, 4 night 4 off, 4 nights 4 off)
Overtime: Overtime is available and paid at 1.5 times the basic rate of £39,000.
Benefits: You'll receive a Westfield health plan and a death-in-service benefit of 6 times your salary.
Pension: The company offers a competitive pension scheme with contributions of 6% from the company and 2% from the employee, or 8% from the company and 4% from the employee.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and reliable engineer with a Level 3 electrical qualification. You should have a background in FMCG or heavy industry. Due to the possibility of having to work alone on shifts, solid experience is essential. The ability to fault-find on PLC input/output levels is desirable, and experience in programming PLCs would be a huge plus. Welding and fabrication skills are also desirable.
