Are you a dedicated Physical Education specialist seeking a rewarding long-term appointment? We are currently recruiting for a structured, long-term opportunity for a Male P.E Teacher at a secondary school near Melbourn.
This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position starting from the upcoming term, spanning either a full semester or the remainder of the academic year. It offers an excellent opportunity to fully integrate into a supportive, modern department and genuinely impact student athletic development.
Please note: Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) applies. Due to changing room supervision duties and pastoral responsibilities within boys' physical education, this position requires a male applicant.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, engaging PE lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Plan, prepare, and assess progress in line with the national curriculum and GCSE/BTEC specifications.
Manage and supervise changing facilities effectively, ensuring a safe, respectful, and structured environment for students.
Lead and support extracurricular sports clubs, fixtures, and inter-school tournaments.
Participate fully in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and the wider life of the school community.
Candidate Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent secondary teaching qualification.
A strong degree or specialism in Physical Education or Sports Science.
Proven experience delivering both practical and theoretical sports curricula to secondary school students.
Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to inspire active participation from students of all abilities.
A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to process a new check immediately).
