Are you a highly motivated and qualified Secondary Maths Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed-term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Plymouth. This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated Mathematics professional ready to take ownership of their own classes and contribute fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
The Role
The core focus of this position is to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, engaging Maths lessons. You will be responsible for a full timetable of classes, ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16 as they develop their mathematical and problem-solving skills. You will be expected to use formative and summative assessment strategies to effectively guide student learning and prepare pupils for their GCSEs.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic educator who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Mathematics (or a closely related field).
Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching Maths at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Exhibits excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
Is passionate about Mathematics and committed to raising student attainment.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for Maths.
Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
Key Responsibilities
You will take full responsibility for the learning and achievement of all pupils in your Maths classes, including planning, preparation, and detailed marking. Other duties include contributing to the development of departmental schemes of work, assessing student progress, providing timely feedback, undertaking a form tutor role, and actively participating in whole-school life and training.
