We are currently recruiting for a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a dedicated on-site maintenance team at a prestigious commercial estate in Central London. This is a static role, ideal for an experienced engineer with a strong background in HVAC, heating, cooling, and plumbing systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, compliance, and safety of all mechanical systems across the estate through both reactive and planned maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and equipment including air handling units, fan coil units, pumps, and heat exchangers.
Respond promptly and effectively to reactive maintenance tasks and fault calls across HVAC, heating, cooling, and domestic plumbing systems.
Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repairs or temporary fixes to minimise downtime.
Perform routine inspections on plant equipment and building services to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues early.
Liaise with site management, tenants, and third-party contractors to deliver a high standard of service and compliance.
Maintain accurate records of all tasks carried out using the site CAFM system.
Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with health & safety regulations and site policies.
Support in system upgrades, small project works, and mechanical improvements where needed.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or HVAC (or equivalent).
Strong hands-on experience working with commercial mechanical building systems.
Knowledge of air conditioning systems, heating circuits, water systems, pressurisation units, and general plumbing.
F-Gas certification (beneficial but not essential).
A good understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
