We are seeking a proactive and skilled Mobile Gas Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of various commercial properties within the contract. This is a crucial role focusing on delivering exceptional service and maintaining legislative compliance.
The Role: What you'll be doing
Gas & Mechanical Maintenance: Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance tasks on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment, including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, and lighting (where applicable).
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed on time. Accurately complete and submit all required certification, paperwork, and reports, clearly identifying any remedial works.
Reactive & Emergency Response: Respond promptly to reactive and emergency call-outs to diagnose and repair faults.
Multi-Skilled Support: Carry out essential fabric and basic electrical tasks as required to maintain the buildings under contract.
Technology & Efficiency: Effectively use handheld technology for task completion and management.
Collaboration & Support: Participate in an on-call out rota to provide full out-of-hours cover and assist other team members or management as required.
Site Management: Monitor visiting sub-contractors for adherence to standards and Health & Safety, issuing appropriate Permits to Work, controlling small works, and conducting escort duties.
🛠️ What you'll bring:
Essential Qualifications: Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines to the role (e.g., Gas, Mechanical Engineering).
Experience: Proven experience in maintenance, testing, and fault finding on a variety of building services equipment, including essential boiler plant.
Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
Skills: A proactive, self-motivated approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
