Factory Operations Manager

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 DOE plus Pension

Position: Full-time, Permanent

We are thrilled to partner with a reputable, market-leading manufacturer to find a dedicated Factory Operations Manager to join their team.

This is a high-visibility role for an experienced manufacturing leader to take full ownership of day-to-day operations and play a vital role in the next phase of business growth. Crucially, this position offers long term career progression opportunities.

The Role

You will lead daily operations from Goods In to Despatch, ensuring a safe, efficient, and uninterrupted product flow. Managing a team of Supervisors, you will collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, and Planning to embed Lean principles, improve TAKT adherence, and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all factory functions (Goods In, Fabrication, Assembly, Despatch) to hit production plans safely, on time, and within budget.

• Directly manage and mentor Production Supervisors; lead daily operational reviews and foster a high-accountability, teamwork-driven environment.

• Champion daily Lean, 3S, and Visual Management activities; lead Kaizen and 5 Why initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks and waste.

• Monitor key factory KPIs, partner with the Quality Manager to resolve issues swiftly, and implement robust manufacturing controls.

• Act as a champion for safety, driving flawless compliance and high standards of workplace organisation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience managing manufacturing operations and leading/developing teams of Supervisors.

• A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and a hands-on management style with a visible shop floor presence.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Sector Experience: Background in automotive, engineering, fabrication, assembly, or OEM manufacturing.

• CI Tools: Direct experience with TAKT-based production systems, 3S, Visual Management, and Continuous Improvement (CI) implementation.

• Qualifications: An HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in an engineering or manufacturing discipline is preferred.
