We are seeking a dynamic Male PE Teacher (QTS) to support our partner Secondary Schools in Diss and the surrounding areas (covering up to a 20-mile radius, including Eye, Thetford, and Harleston). This role is perfect for a specialist who enjoys the variety of working in different departments while maintaining a perfect work-life balance. Whether you are looking for one day a week or five, we provide the platform for you to impact student health and wellbeing without the demands of permanent planning and marking.
Your Responsibilities
- Dynamic Lesson Delivery: Lead pre-planned practical PE sessions across KS3 and KS4, ensuring high levels of participation and physical activity for all students.
- Sporting Versatility: Confidently oversee a variety of disciplines, including team sports (football, rugby, basketball), athletics, and racket sports.
- Classroom & Field Management: Implement school-specific behaviour policies with a firm but fair approach, ensuring a safe and respectful environment during high-energy activities.
- Theory Support: Occasionally deliver GCSE PE or BTEC Sport theory lessons, assisting students with their understanding of anatomy, physiology, and sports psychology.
- Safety & Risk Assessment: Maintain an uncompromising standard of health and safety, ensuring equipment is used correctly and students are supervised at all times.
- Professional Handover: Provide concise feedback to the department head regarding student engagement and any notable achievements during your sessions.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. A degree in Physical Education or Sports Science.
- Adaptability: The ability to travel within a 20-mile radius of Diss and build immediate rapport with new staff and student cohorts.
- Motivational Authority: A proactive role model who demonstrates high energy and a genuine passion for physical education.
- Enhanced DBS: Must hold a Child DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to process a new one via Randstad).
