Key Responsibilities
- Complex Caseload Management: Take the lead on complex, high-risk statutory cases, including intricate safeguarding matters and advanced risk assessments within the locality.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide reflective supervision, practice guidance, and mentoring to newly qualified social workers (NQSWs), students, and less experienced team members.
- Statutory Assessments: Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments, developing, implementing, and reviewing robust care and support plans.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Act as a key liaison across health, education, police, and voluntary sectors to ensure cohesive, multi-disciplinary support for service users.
- Quality Assurance: Drive high standards of clinical practice, ensuring all interventions and case recordings comply with statutory legislation and local authority frameworks.
- Duty & Crisis Response: Participate in the team's duty rota, providing senior oversight and decisive action during crisis interventions.
Essential Requirements
- Qualifications: A recognized Social Work degree (or equivalent) and active registration with Social Care Wales (or relevant regulatory body).
- Experience: Extensive post-qualifying experience in a statutory social work setting, specifically within locality, safeguarding, or community teams.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to support, coach, or supervise peers, with a strong commitment to elevating team practice standards.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of current social care legislation, including the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, and rigorous safeguarding protocols.
- Mobility: A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle to facilitate travel across the Pembrokeshire region.
