About the Role
This is an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated, and forward-thinking educator to join a highly successful science department on a full-time basis starting this September. Operating in a third-person capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for maximising the academic progress of students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the exciting potential to teach advanced Key Stage 5 classes depending on experience.

Key Requirements
... - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS clearance registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Curriculum Familiarity: Thorough understanding of the UK National Curriculum, including GCSE and ideally A-Level physics syllabi.
- Eligibility to Work: Valid legal entitlement to work full-time in the UK.

- Advanced Subject Expertise: Deep, comprehensive knowledge of core and advanced physics concepts.
- Classroom Management: Proven ability to maintain a positive, safe, and highly focused learning environment.
- Differentiated Instruction: Skill in scaffolding lessons for lower starting points while stretching high-achieving learners.
- Practical Demonstration: Expertise in setting up, supervising, and delivering safe, engaging laboratory experiments.
- Cross-Curricular Innovation: Capability to link physics concepts to other disciplines, such as the thermal physics and fluid dynamics found in Food Technology.
- Data-Driven Assessment: Proficiency in monitoring student data to target interventions and boost academic progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Lesson Planning: Prepare and deliver well-structured, stimulating physics lessons appropriate to all student abilities.
- Student Monitoring: Assess, record, and track the academic progress of pupils in line with faculty guidelines.
- Laboratory Safety: Enforce strict health and safety protocols during all practical physics experiments and demonstrations.
- Curriculum Alignment: Ensure all educational content satisfies exam board and national curriculum requirements.
- Parental Engagement: Provide high-quality, constructive, and targeted feedback during parent's evenings and in formal reports.
- Departmental Collaboration: Share best practices and contribute to the collective development of learning resources within the science faculty.
- Behaviour Management: Promote high standards of organisation and proactive behaviour using positive reinforcement.
- Inclusive Education: Liaise with Learning Support teams to modify lessons for students with special educational needs (SEN).
- Cross-Departmental Synergy: Collaborate occasionally with practical departments like Food Tech to design engaging, interdisciplinary STEM projects.
- School Representation: Attend staff meetings, briefings, and open evenings, upholding the professional values of the academy at all times.
