About the Opportunity
Join one of the region's largest housing associations dedicated to providing safe, comfortable, and well-maintained homes for our residents in the Bracknell area. We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join our in-house repairs team.
This role is vital to our commitment to high-quality service, focusing on reactive repairs across our diverse property portfolio in and around Bracknell.
Key Responsibilities
Reactive Repairs: Carry out routine and emergency plumbing and basic multi-trade maintenance and repairs within occupied social housing properties in the Bracknell area.
Fault Diagnosis: Efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve a variety of plumbing faults, including leaks, blockages, and fixture repairs.
Multi-Trade Tasks: Undertake basic secondary trade tasks (e.g., minor patch plastering, tiling, carpentry) necessary to complete repair jobs efficiently.
Compliance: Ensure all work is executed to a high standard, adhering strictly to all current Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
Customer Service: Act as a professional representative of the housing association, providing courteous and effective communication with residents regarding their repairs and concerns.
Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the scheduling team to ensure timely and seamless service delivery.
Requirements
Qualification: NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent recognised trade qualification/experience).
Experience: Demonstrable experience in plumbing maintenance and repairs, ideally within a social housing, local authority, or facilities management environment.
Skills: Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities, coupled with competence in undertaking basic multi-trade repairs.
Autonomy: Proven ability to manage a workload effectively and complete tasks to a high standard with minimal supervision.
Communication: Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills for clear communication with residents and colleagues.
Licence: Must hold a current, full UK driving licence.
