We are seeking a Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS) for a long-term position beginning in September 2026 at a modern partner school in St Albans. This well-resourced primary school focuses on strengthening core literacy and numeracy skills while fostering social and emotional growth. We need a dynamic teacher who can tailor lessons to diverse learning styles, manage classroom energy with confidence, and motivate pupils to reach their full potential.
Core Responsibilities
- Lesson Delivery: Plan and execute differentiated lessons aligned with the Primary National Curriculum to support varied learning speeds.
- Core Literacy & Numeracy: Build pupil confidence in reading, writing, and mathematics through engaging, practical teaching techniques.
- Classroom Supervision: Direct and collaborate with classroom Teaching Assistants to ensure a structured, safe, and positive learning space.
- Progress Tracking: Use formative assessment tools to monitor individual academic growth, identify intervention needs, and celebrate success.
- Phase Team Collaboration: Work closely with Key Stage leads and year-group colleagues to maintain curriculum consistency across classes.
- Parental Communication: Maintain open, encouraging relationships with parents and carers to support pupil development at home and school.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. Open to both experienced educators and exceptional Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
- Pedagogical Knowledge: A strong understanding of primary learning milestones, adaptive teaching methods, and positive behaviour strategies.
- Resilient Demeanour: A calm, compassionate, and grounded approach to maintaining focus and composure in active classroom environments.
- Team Player: A collaborative mindset focused on promoting overall pupil well-being and academic achievement.
- Vetting: Holds an Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to process one via Randstad).
