Randstad is currently recruiting an exceptional Primary Teacher (QTS mandatory) for a full-time, long-term contract starting after the half-term holidays at a welcoming partner Primary School in Stevenage. In tandem with this ongoing post, we are actively onboarding adaptable educators for flexible daily supply teaching across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Whether you are looking for the continuity of your own class or prefer the flexibility of day-to-day supply cover, this progressive school provides a rich learning environment dedicated to pupil attainment and well-being.
Your Responsibilities
- Adapted Curriculum Delivery: Formulate and execute differentiated, high-impact lesson plans strictly aligned with National Curriculum guidelines to cater to varied pupil capabilities (or deliver pre-set work dynamically during supply cover).
- Core Subject Mastery: Deploy interactive learning tools, practical mathematics strategies, and modern phonics schemes to advance pupil performance across key stages.
- Classroom Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and collaborate with room Teaching Assistants to maintain a safe, highly organised, and positive learning space.
- Progress Assessment & Tracking: Implement structured assessment frameworks to monitor individual pupil milestones, evaluate academic growth, and celebrate achievements.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Liaise closely alongside the SENCO, key stage coordinators, and school leadership to support SEND and EAL pupils effectively.
- Parental Partnerships & Handover: Maintain clear, encouraging communication with parents and carers to build a strong home-school connection, or provide clear handover notes following supply cover.
What You'll Bring to the Team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Mandatory. Open to both experienced primary educators and outstanding Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with UK primary classroom experience.
- Pedagogical Knowledge: Solid grasp of primary curriculum expectations, adaptive teaching methods, and positive behaviour reinforcement.
- Professional Resilience & Adaptability: A calm, compassionate, and grounded approach to maintaining an attentive, supportive classroom environment, whether in a settled base or visiting on supply.
- Collaborative Ethos: A strong commitment to working alongside colleagues to prioritise pupil welfare and achievement.
- Vetting Requirements: Holds an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a new application via Randstad).
