Production Forklift Driver
Location: Powys
Salary: £14.10 per hour (Inclusive of shift allowance, with all breaks fully paid)
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off (2 Day shifts: 06:00 - 18:00, followed by 2 Night shifts: 18:00 - 06:00)
About the Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Production Forklift Driver to join our manufacturing team. Operating on a state-of-the-art, BRC-accredited manufacturing site, you will play a central role in keeping our production lines fully stocked and moving finished goods safely into storage.
While experience in food manufacturing or BRC-audited environments is highly desirable, we are very keen to hear from experienced FLT drivers coming from pharmaceutical, logistics, or lighter industrial backgrounds.
What We Offer
- Highly Competitive Pay: £14.10 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance).
- Paid Breaks: You are paid for your full shift's unpaid downtime.
- Internal Training: We provide comprehensive internal training on our processes and systems. Your existing FLT licence does not need to be RTITB, as long as it is valid and you have solid driving experience.
- Structured Career Progression: A clear grading system (Grade 1 to Grade 3) that allows you to progress into specialised tool-changing (mould changes) or step up as a Lead FLT driver.
Key Responsibilities
- Line Support & Stocking: Feed production lines with the correct raw materials to keep them running efficiently, and return unused materials to their designated storage locations.
- Pallet Management: Remove finished products from the production lines, scan and identify pallets, and move them safely into relevant warehousing.
- Palletiser Operations: Conduct changeovers on palletisers according to the production schedule, completing startup and safety checks.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct daily FLT startup checks, report any issues, and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with food safety and health & safety standards.
- Waste Management: Clear waste from the production lines and place it in the correct recycling areas.
- Logistics Support: Load and unload lorries when required.
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
- A valid FLT licence (any accredited body; internal training and conversions will be provided) with proven FLT driving experience.
- Previous experience working within a busy production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong Health and Safety awareness.
- Good communication skills with a good level of written and spoken English.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic computer/IT literacy.
Desirable:
- Experience in a food or soft drinks manufacturing environment.
- Experience with pallet scanning, racking driving, and stock control systems.
- Experience working under BRC or similar audit standards.
How to Apply
If you have the required forklift experience, are highly organised, and are looking for a role with clear avenues for progression, we want to hear from you.
