Job Title: Project Manager (Permanent)
Location: Nationwide (UK) - Project-based travel required
Salary: £70,000-£75,000 per annum + Excellent Benefits Package (including Car Allowance)
Sector: Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) / Modular Buildings - Healthcare & Education
About the Client
Our client is an award-winning, market-leading specialist in offsite construction and modern methods of construction (MMC). With over 50 years of industry excellence, they design, manufacture, and deliver high-quality permanent and semi-permanent turnkey modular spaces.
As a tier-one contractor, they deliver highly complex, essential social infrastructure projects across the UK. Due to sustained growth and a strong pipeline of major public-sector frameworks, they are seeking an experienced, proactive Project Manager to lead permanent and temporary builds within their high-profile Healthcare and Education divisions.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will hold overall accountability for the successful delivery of projects from inception through to manufacturing, onsite installation, and final handover. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing multidisciplinary teams, project timelines, budgets, and compliance. This role requires managing projects often situated on live hospital campuses or educational environments, where meticulous planning and stakeholder management are critical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of healthcare and education schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Act as the main interface with clients, design teams, factory production teams, and onsite construction crews to ensure seamless project integration.
- Manage project commercials, including cost control, variations, forecasting, and maximizing profitability.
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, identifying risks early and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Lead and mentor onsite management teams (including Site Managers) and coordinate sub-contractors.
The Ideal Candidate
To excel in this role, you must be a highly organized, commercially astute leader with a proven track record of project managing construction schemes-ideally with exposure to modern methods of construction (MMC), fast-track modular delivery, or traditional builds within education and health sectors. Because this is a nationwide role, flexibility to travel to various sites and client meetings across the UK is essential.
Essential Requirements:
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
- CSCS Card (Black / Management preferred)
- First Aid at Work (3-day valid certification)
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering schemes within the Healthcare (NHS/private) and/or Education (schools, colleges, universities) sectors.
- Strong contractual and commercial acumen (experience with NEC or JCT contracts is highly desirable).
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
What's on Offer?
This is a permanent position with an industry leader offering great career stability, clear progression pathways, and exposure to cutting-edge sustainable construction technology.
- Base Salary: £70,000- £75,000
- Company Car Allowance
- Generous holiday entitlement
- Contributory Pension Scheme
- Private Healthcare options
- Ongoing professional training and career development opportunities
