Randstad Education is looking for a dedicated and charismatic Science Teacher to join a leading Alternative Provision in Birmingham. This is a unique opportunity to work within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting, supporting students who require a bespoke approach to learning.
The Role
In this environment, "Science" is more than just a curriculum, it's a way to engage students with the world around them. You will be responsible for:
Delivering engaging Science lessons to small groups of students (KS3/KS4).
Managing complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Adapting traditional practicals to ensure safety and engagement in an SEN setting.
Building strong, trusting relationships with students who have faced barriers to education.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:
UK Teaching Experience: A proven track record of teaching within the UK education system is essential.
Strong SEN Background: Extensive experience working with SEMH, ASD, or ADHD within a PRU or specialised SEN environment.
QTS/QTLS: Full teaching qualification with a specialisation in Science.
Resilience: A "can-do" attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
