Are you an Early Years Practitioner or Nursery Teacher looking to rediscover your passion for childcare without the burnout? Whether you want the absolute independence of choosing your own day-to-day shifts or you are searching for the stability of a steady, long-term contract, we have local openings tailored to your preferences.
We are currently partnering with a variety of welcoming nursery schools, preschools, and day nurseries throughout Cambourne and the wider Cambridgeshire area. We are searching for reliable, enthusiastic educators to provide high-quality cover across these diverse early years communities.
This setup is ideal for experienced practitioners who want to focus purely on delivering great play-based learning without the take-home paperwork, as well as newly qualified educators looking to gain invaluable, varied experience across multiple settings.
Tailor Your Working Schedule:
Day-to-Day Cover: Complete ownership of your working calendar. You decide your availability week-by-week. Walk into the setting, deliver engaging sensory activities, enjoy working with the children, and leave work completely behind you at the end of the shift.
Long-Term Opportunities: For those who prefer a steady routine, we offer fixed-term assignments spanning a term or a full school year (covering maternity, sickness, or interim gaps). It is the perfect way to embed yourself within a nursery team and genuinely impact pupil development.
What We Are Looking For:
EYFS Qualifications: Cache Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Early Years/Childcare, Foundation Degree, or Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS / QTS).
A strong working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
Effective behaviour management strategies and a warm, encouraging approach to learning through play.
An adaptable and proactive attitude, comfortable stepping into new nursery environments.
A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete a new check).
Benefits of Working With Us:
Competitive rates of pay, paid to you weekly and reflective of your experience level.
A transparent, stress-free booking process that respects your lifestyle and personal availability.
Free access to fundamental CPD courses and safeguarding refresher training.
A dedicated local consultant at Randstad who deeply understands the Cambourne and Cambridgeshire childcare sectors.
Ready to take the pressure out of your early years career?
Reclaim your work-life balance and teach on your own terms.
How to Apply: Please forward your current CV and a quick summary of your early years background to richard.wilkinson@randstad.co.uk or call 01223 368836 for a friendly, informal discussion about our active roles in Cambourne.
We are strictly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All candidates will be required to undergo comprehensive vetting, reference checks, and an enhanced DBS disclosure.
