Social Worker - Fostering Service (Connected Persons Team)
Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and families? Rochdale Council are currently looking to recruit a Social Worker to join their Fostering Service - Connected Persons Team.
This is a really exciting time to be part of the service, with new initiatives underway including Mockingbird and No Wrong Door, alongside continued development in the Secure Base model and Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP).
You'll be joining a stable, friendly and experienced fostering team that values reflective practice, peer support and collaboration.

Responsibilities:
- Complete fostering and connected persons assessments in line with fostering regulations and statutory guidance.
- Support and supervise connected foster carers, ensuring placements are safe, stable and meet the child's needs.
- Work closely with children, families and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Apply safeguarding principles to all areas of your work, keeping the child's welfare at the centre.
- Contribute to the team's continued development as Rochdale embeds innovative models such as Mockingbird, No Wrong Door, and the Secure Base approach.
To be considered the role, ideally you will have:
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- Proven background in safeguarding children and working with families.
- Strong assessment skills and experience of completing Form F / connected persons assessments.
- Understanding of fostering legislation and the ability to build strong working relationships with carers and partner agencies.
- A reflective, team-focused practitioner who keeps the child's needs central at all times.
