We're proud to be working in partnership with Knowsley Council to recruit passionate and experienced Social Workers for their Young People's team within Children's Services.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking authority that values its staff and puts young people at the heart of everything it does. You'll provide a high quality, person centred social work service to looked-after young people and care leavers (typically aged 14 to 18), supporting them as they move towards adulthood and independence.
Your goal will be to ensure young people are safe, healthy, and equipped with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the next chapter of their lives.

What You'll Do:
- Provide dedicated support to looked after young people and care leavers, helping them prepare for independence and adult life
- Build strong, trusting relationships to help young people develop life skills, confidence, and resilience
- Develop and implement individualised pathway plans, ensuring goals are realistic, measurable, and centred on the young person's aspirations
- Work closely with education, housing, health, and partner agencies to provide coordinated and effective multi-agency support
- Support young people to access training, employment, and suitable accommodation
- Prepare reports and assessments for reviews, meetings, and court proceedings, ensuring decisions are informed and child-focused
- Promote a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach that empowers young people to take ownership of their future
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience working with looked-after children, care leavers, or young people preparing for independence
- Court experience and confidence in preparing and presenting professional assessments and reports
- Social Work England (SWE) registration
- A BSc or equivalent qualification in Social Work
- Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills
- The empathy, resilience, and commitment to help young people achieve positive, lasting outcomes
