Qualified Social Worker - Access, Help & Support Team (AHST)

Randstad Social Care is seeking a committed and decisive Children & Families Social Worker to join the fast-paced Access, Help and Support Team (AHST) in East Dunbartonshire. This team operates as the central front-door and single access route for all incoming child wellbeing referrals and child protection concerns, offering an exciting opportunity to deliver swift, child-centred interventions within a supportive multi-agency environment.

- Initial Risk Assessment & Child Protection: Lead on initial child protection inquiries, child concern reports, and rapid risk assessments, swiftly identifying immediate risks to young people's safety and well-being.
- Information Gathering & Duty Casework: Carry out targeted, short-term assessments and information-gathering with families, referrers, and carers to establish proportionate support pathways.
- Multi-Agency Information Sharing: Partner directly with the police, health visitors, education, and third-sector partners to ensure prompt, joint-agency information-sharing and coordinated safety planning.
- Signposting & Case Progression: Formulate immediate safety plans, facilitate seamless case transfers to longer-term Children & Families locality teams, or signpost families to community-based early intervention services.

- Professional Registration: Active registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) (or registered with Social Work England with eligibility to switch).
- Vetting: Valid membership in the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme for working with children.
- Education: Recognised Degree or Diploma in Social Work (BA Hons, DipSW, MSc).
- Experience: Proven post-qualifying experience in statutory Children & Families social work, with strong expertise in front-door intake, triage, initial assessment, or child protection duty systems in Scotland or the wider UK.
