Registered Children's Home Manager
- Location: Tewkesbury / 2 bed EBD home
- Salary: £53,300 (negotiable based on experience)
- Hours: 40 per week, Full-Time
- Line Manager: Responsible Individual
We are a family-run provider of integrated services for children who have experienced trauma, often resulting in emotional and behavioural difficulties. Our provision includes both long-term and crisis-intervention placements, focused wholly on delivering quality care that embraces the concept of family values.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Children's Home Manager to lead our 2-bed EBD home. You will be responsible for providing leadership, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional care is delivered in line with our family values and all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management: Provide guidance, motivation, and creativity to the staff team; manage rotas, holidays, timesheets, sickness, and oversee the staff training plan, supervision, and annual appraisals.
- Child Welfare & Development: Support children/young people to enjoy and achieve, develop positive relationships, gain resilience for adulthood, and participate in decision-making.
- Compliance & Administration: Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards; apply to Ofsted for registration within 28 days of employment; manage the home's financial budget; oversee placement plans and risk assessments; and maintain accurate records.
- Safeguarding: Recognise, respond, record, and refer all safeguarding concerns; manage risk assessments and behaviour management plans; and liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Communication: Lead Home and Team Meetings, and maintain professional liaison with external agencies (e.g., Local Authorities, YOS, Police).
Essential Requirements
- Attainment of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Thorough working knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
