We are searching for a motivated professional to join our specialist surgical unit, focusing on the entire patient journey from pre-op through safe discharge. This isn't just a clinical role; it's a key operational position that keeps our Theatre Department running smoothly and ensures an exceptional experience for every patient.
The Role: What You'll Be Doing
Own the Patient Journey: Manage the complete end-to-end patient pathway, from initial pre-operative telephone assessments to the safe admission and discharge of patients following surgery.
Support & Coordination: Provide essential support during surgical sessions, including patient preparation and circulating for procedures (full training provided for those new to circulating).
Clinical Excellence: Champion the highest standards of care by strictly adhering to the WHO Surgical Safety Checklist and all infection control policies.
Operational Input: Contribute to the efficiency and governance of the department by maintaining meticulous clinical documentation, supporting the Theatre Lead with resource/stock management, and participating in vital audit activities.

What You'll Need to Succeed
- Essential Qualification: Current professional registration as a Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
Specialist Experience: Proven, solid experience in a pre-assessment or ambulatory recovery setting.
Core Competencies: Demonstrable organisational acumen, leadership potential, and outstanding communication skills.
