An Ofsted 'Outstanding' Independent Fostering Agency is seeking a visionary Registered Manager to spearhead their post-approval service. This leadership role is central to the agency's mission of providing safety and stability for children through a robust therapeutic and trauma-informed framework. The successful candidate will oversee the effective running of fostering operations, ensuring that both social work and carer practices strictly adhere to national regulations and agency standards.
This position offers a strategic platform to influence the agency's growth and succession planning. Working under the guidance of an active Board of Directors, the manager will be responsible for cascading development throughout the team, building a resilient service capable of meeting the evolving landscape of fostering policies in England.
Acting as a designated person for safeguarding, ensuring all policies are followed, including LADO consultations and timely Schedule 7 notifications.
Providing structured, reflective supervision to Practice Managers to foster autonomous decision-making and leadership competence.
Maintaining full regulatory compliance and oversight of social work practice, including the auditing of case files and decision-making rationales.
Ensuring the growth of locality-based communities (clusters) to enhance placement stability and foster parent retention.
Embedding trauma-informed approaches across the service to improve outcomes and resilience for children in care.
Contributing to the annual planning cycle, budgeting, and the development of the agency's learning and development offer.
Monitoring service performance through KPIs, annual appraisals, and the "voice of the child" feedback mechanisms.
Must be a Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England (SWE).
Possession of (or working towards) a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care or equivalent.
At least 3 years of management experience, ideally within the independent fostering sector.
Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding procedures and regulatory standards.
Exceptional crisis management, communication, and people management skills.
A full UK driving licence is essential for this role.
