Registered Manager - Specialist Children's Residential
Location: Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Base) + Performance Related Bonuses
Ote: Up to £66,250
Home Size: Brand New 3-Bed Residential Home
The "Why"
Most providers talk about "outcomes," but we live them. We are a passion-led organisation that believes children's residential care should be about more than just "balancing the books." While we are a stable and professional business, our heart lies in changing lives through adventure, engagement, and genuine care. We incorporate leisure and outdoor activities to help our young people build confidence and life skills. If your first question is always "How will this benefit the child?" - you are the person we are looking for.
The Culture
We are a young, thriving company (2 years, 2 homes) currently heading toward an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating. We aren't a faceless corporate machine; we are a "recreative" and supportive management team that believes in the people we hire. ● Work/Life Balance: We insist on it. We know this job is demanding, so we ensure you have the time to recharge.
● Investment: Training isn't just a tick-box exercise here; it is actively promoted and funded.
● Support: You will work alongside an experienced Senior Registered Manager and Directors who are hands-on but give you the autonomy to lead.
The Role
As the Registered Manager of our brand-new 3-bed home in Sutton Coldfield, you will be the heartbeat of the service. You won't just be sitting behind a desk; you will be a role model, a mentor, and a leader who is happy to get "stuck in."
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead the home through the Ofsted registration and inspection process.
● Recruit, interview, and build your own high-performing staff team.
● Manage budgets effectively without compromising on the quality of care.
● Foster an environment that is "organized, not militant"-maintaining high standards through positive culture rather than rigid bureaucracy. Who You Are We are looking for a personality, not just a CV.
● The Experience: You have a proven track record with Ofsted
● The Mindset: You are easy-going, passionate, and flexible. You understand that this isn't a 9-to-5 role, but you also know how to delegate and organise so the home runs smoothly.
● The Skills: You are a natural interviewer, a mentor to junior staff, and this isn't a 9-to-5 role, but you also know how to delegate and organise so the home runs smoothly.
Our bonus structure is transparent and achievable:
● Base Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Subject to experience and qualifications)
● Ofsted Bonus: £1,500 for a 'Good' rating / £2,500 for 'Outstanding' (Paid upon publication).
● Occupancy Bonus: £1,250 per child (A, B, and C). Total Earning Potential: Up to £66,250 per annum.
● (Note: To qualify for bonuses, you must be in post/residence for 6 months or longer.)
The Process
We value your time and prefer a relaxed approach to find the right "fit."
1. Screening Call: A brief chat to talk through your CV and aspirations.
2. Informal Interview: A relaxed meeting with our Senior RM and RI to see if our passions align.
