Randstad are currently working with a well-established and award-winning residential childcare provider located on the East Coast of Scotland. We are looking for caring, committed, resilient, and empathetic Residential Care Workers to join our team.

Our practice is rooted in theories like Attachment Theory and Social Pedagogy , and we focus on helping young people develop coping mechanisms and life skills. We provide person-centered care for young people who may have a range of social, emotional, and physical needs.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of each child, helping them achieve their individual goals. Working as part of a team, you will serve as a keyworker, offering day-to-day care, support, and guidance while building positive relationships with the children, their families, and other professionals.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: You must have at least two years of experience working with vulnerable young people in a residential care setting. This includes young people with a range of support needs, such as those from traumatic life experiences, family breakdowns, or disabilities.
- Qualifications: You should either be fully qualified or working toward the required qualifications to be a residential childcare worker, meeting the standards set out by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration. Qualifications such as an HNC in Health and Social Care or an SVQ3 in Children and Young People (or equivalents) are necessary.
- Driving: A clean and current driver's license is required, along with a willingness to transport young people using company vehicles.
- Availability: You must be able to work unsocial hours, including weekends.
Salary & Benefits
- Pay: The hourly rate for this position is between £12.50 and £15.50. The annual salary, including a sleepover allowance, ranges from £30,772 to £37,021.
- Shift Patterns:
- Full-time: Full-time roles involve a 9-week rolling rota of three 24-hour shifts (24 hours on, 24 hours off) followed by three days off. Each 24-hour shift includes an 8-hour sleepover.
- Part-time: Part-time shifts are either 12 hours (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.) or 6 hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.).
