The Role Are you a compassionate and resilient individual dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable young people? We are looking for a Residential Support Worker to join our specialist team in Bridgend.
In this role, you will be more than just a staff member; you will be a mentor and a pillar of stability. Therapeutic Care: Implement trauma-informed care strategies to support children with emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD).
Documentation: Maintain accurate, professional, and objective daily logs and incident reports in line with regulatory standards.
Safeguarding: Actively promote the welfare of all residents, ensuring safeguarding procedures are strictly followed at all times.
Teamwork: Work collaboratively with the wider team, including social workers and therapists, to ensure the best outcomes for every child.
Essential Requirements
Experience: Proven experience working within a Children's Residential Care setting is essential. You must understand the complexities of a regulated residential environment.
Qualification: You must either hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Health and Social Care - Children's Pathway) OR be actively working towards this qualification.
Resilience: The ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations while providing emotional support to young people.
Logistics: Due to the nature of the role (transporting young people to appointments and activities), a full UK driving license is highly preferred.
Why Join Us?
Competitive Salary: A stable salary of £28k-£29k, recognizing your skills and dedication to the sector.
Professional Growth: If you are currently working towards your Level 3, we offer the supportive environment you need to complete your qualification and progress your career.
