Role Overview:
Enfield Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Team Manager (DTM) to support the operational delivery of high-quality services within the Child Protection and Children in Need (CIN) team. The DTM will assist the Team Manager in supervising, guiding, and supporting social workers, ensuring that all statutory responsibilities are met effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervision to a team of social workers managing complex cases within CIN and Child Protection.
Assist in case audits, quality assurance, and ensuring timely progression of cases.
Contribute to the development of service delivery plans and the implementation of best practice standards.
Oversee statutory requirements, including Child in Need plans, Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Children reviews, and court proceedings.
Support the Team Manager in maintaining performance against key indicators.
Promote effective multi-agency collaboration and partnership working.
Step in to manage the team in the Team Manager's absence.
Essential Requirements:
Social Work Qualification and registration with Social Work England.
Minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in children's social care.
Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within Child Protection/CIN.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Care Planning Regulations.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
