Role Overview:

London Borough of Havering is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead the Children with Disabilities (CWD) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality social work services for children and young people with disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and practitioners delivering services to children with disabilities.

• Ensure effective care planning, assessments, and safeguarding interventions in line with statutory requirements and best practice.

• Monitor team performance and casework standards, providing guidance and supervision to promote high-quality outcomes.

• Collaborate with multi-agency partners including health, education, and voluntary services to ensure integrated service delivery.

• Manage service demand, allocation of work, and ensure timely responses to referrals and reviews.

• Promote a strengths-based, child-centred approach in all casework.

• Contribute to service development and improvement strategies.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.

• Significant post-qualifying experience in children's services, particularly with children with disabilities.

• Proven leadership and team management experience.

• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, including the Children Act 1989, Care Act 2014, and SEND Code of Practice.

• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
