The Role
We are seeking qualified Scaffolders to join a major civil engineering framework across the West Midlands. This isn't standard residential "tubes and boards"; you will be working on complex infrastructure projects including bridge repairs, water treatment works, and heavy industrial support structures.
The ideal candidate will be adept at erecting specialized scaffolding (such as hanging scaffolds or heavy-duty shoring) in high-pressure environments where safety and structural precision are the absolute priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Erection & Dismantling: Building and striking complex scaffolding structures according to engineered drawings.
Specialist Access: Setting up cantilevered scaffolds, birdcages, and temporary roof systems.
Safety Inspections: Ensuring all scaffolding is tagged (Scaftag) and compliant with NASC (TG20:21) standards.
Material Handling: Safely loading and unloading vehicles and managing stock on site.
Team Leadership: (For Advanced Scaffolders) Leading a gang and overseeing Part 1s and Trainees to ensure quality control.
Requirements
CISRS Card: Mandatory Blue (Part 2) or Gold (Advanced) card.
Civils Experience: Previous experience on infrastructure sites (highways, rail, or utilities) is highly preferred.
Safety Tickets: Working at Height and Manual Handling certifications are essential.
Attributes: Comfortable working at significant heights and in all weather conditions.
Reliability: A strong commitment to site hours and strict health and safety protocols.
