One of our Primary Schools in Liverpool is looking for an experienced, proactive, and highly capable School Business Manager (SBM) to join our warm and welcoming leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in a vibrant, community-centred school.
In a time where strategic thinking, resource management, and financial acumen are more vital than ever, we need someone who can hit the ground running. You'll be a key part of shaping the operational excellence that underpins our children learning journey.
Main Duties:
- Manage and monitor the school's budget and financial planning.
- Oversee all aspects of HR including recruitment, contracts, and staff absence.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and data protection regulations.
- Lead on site management and maintenance of school premises and facilities.
- Handle procurement, contracts, and supplier negotiations to ensure value for money.
- Support strategic planning and contribute to the school's development priorities.
- Supervise office staff and ensure smooth day-to-day administrative operations.
- Manage payroll processes in collaboration with external providers.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar role - School Bursar, Assistant SBM or SBM roles preferred.
- A relevant qualification in school business management is highly desirable (CSBM, DSBM, or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of school finance systems, HR, premises management, and compliance.
- A confident, solution-focused professional who thrives under pressure and works collaboratively.
- Someone ready to step in immediately and make a real impact from day one.
