We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Science Teacher to join our partner secondary school in Westminster. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for A-Level teaching for the right candidate. This is a chance to be part of a dedicated team committed to fostering a love for all things scientific.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics) to students from Year 7 to Year 11.
- Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them improve and excel.
- Create a positive and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment that encourages curiosity, practical inquiry, and a love for scientific discovery.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Science department to develop innovative schemes of work and share best practices.
- Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extra-curricular science clubs, school events, and departmental meetings.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student progress and well-being.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
- A relevant degree in a Science subject (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
- Proven experience teaching Science at the secondary level (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4).
- A strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Science and experience preparing students for GCSE exams.
- The ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, from those requiring additional support to gifted and talented students.
- Excellent classroom management skills and a positive, resilient approach.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- A Child DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
