Job Title: Secondary English Teacher (Language & Literature)
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Pay Rate: £150.00 - £200.00 per day (DOE)
Contract: Full-Time / Long-Term
About the Role
Randstad Education is recruiting a creative and dedicated English Teacher for secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea. You will foster a love for reading, creative writing, and analytical thinking across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English Language and English Literature to pupils of varying abilities.
- Prepare students for AQA, Edexcel, or OCR GCSE examinations.
- Differentiate lessons to support pupils with SEN and stretch high-attaining pupils.
- Participate in departmental planning, parent's evenings, and extracurricular literacy initiatives.
Requirements:
- QTS / QTLS status with an English background.
- Strong classroom management skills and passion for literature and language.
- Essential: Safeguarding, Prevent, and Allergy Training completed within the last 12 months (or a commitment to complete these prior to placement to meet full GCA clearance standards, which Randstad is compliant with).
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
