Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, subject-specific lessons across KS3 and KS4, following established department schemes of work or cover plans.
- Foster a safe, structured, and purposeful learning environment where students are motivated and held to high academic expectations.
- Apply effective classroom management strategies and implement individual school behaviour policies consistently.
- Adapt instruction to meet the varied learning styles, academic abilities, and needs within each class.
- For long-term roles: take ownership of scheme planning, ongoing assessment, GCSE preparation/marking, and attending departmental meetings.
What We Look For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent secondary teaching qualification (instructors with relevant subject degrees and strong secondary experience are also welcomed).
- Strong subject knowledge across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Confident classroom management skills and the ability to build quick, positive rapport with teenagers.
- An adaptable, proactive approach to stepping into different secondary environments.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
