Luton
On behalf of our partner Secondary School in Luton, we are seeking a top-tier Qualified Secondary Teacher (QTS/QTLS mandatory) for a full-time, long-term placement beginning in September 2026. This welcoming academy values innovative lesson design, strong behaviour management, and a collaborative staff culture. Key Responsibilities
- High-Impact Lesson Delivery: Plan, prepare, and facilitate stimulating subject lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 opportunities available for experienced practitioners), ensuring alignment with national curriculum standards and exam board specifications.
- Academic Tracking & Assessment: Utilise robust formative and summative assessment tools to monitor student progress, interpreting data effectively to implement tailored catch-up routines or higher-tier stretch interventions.
- Positive Behaviour Management: Establish clear classroom routines and high behavioural expectations from day one, utilizing proactive, positive reinforcement strategies to maintain a focused, respectful learning environment.
- Inclusive Education Support: Coordinate closely with the school SENDCO and deploy classroom Learning Support Assistants effectively, ensuring students with additional needs or English as an Additional Language (EAL) can fully access the curriculum.
- Exam Preparation: Provide rigorous academic guidance, exam-technique workshops, and constructive feedback to prepare GCSE cohorts thoroughly for their terminal examinations.
- Collaborative Department Contribution: Participate actively in departmental meetings, cross-curricular planning sessions, parent-teacher evenings, and ongoing professional development days.
What You'll Bring to the School
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS): Mandatory. A proven track record of successful subject teaching within a UK secondary school setting. (We warmly welcome applications from both experienced subject specialists and Early Career Teachers).
- Curriculum Confidence: A comprehensive, contemporary understanding of your subject's pedagogy, milestone tracking, and GCSE assessment frameworks.
- Resilient Classroom Leadership: The ability to inspire adolescents, command authority with empathy, and cultivate a focused, optimistic learning atmosphere.
- Long-Term Consistency: The professional reliability to commit to a full-time, Monday-to-Friday teaching timetable starting in September 2026 for the duration of the academic year.
