RoleRole & Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with a range of SEN, including ASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN. You'll work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, including teaching assistants and specialist SEN staff, to create a positive and stimulating learning environment. You will foster a sense of community within the classroom, encouraging students to reach their full potential.
Main tasks include
- Develop and implement individualised education programs (IEPs) for students.
- Create engaging and differentiated lesson plans to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Collaborate with support staff to provide a stimulating learning environment.
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback to parents/guardians.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records.
- Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN in a primary school setting.
- Experience working with students with ASD, MLD, SLD, and SLCN is essential.
- Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Passionate about supporting students with SEN to reach their full potential.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- A thorough understanding of the UK National Curriculum.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
