Are you looking for a highly rewarding role in education that works entirely around your schedule? Whether you are seeking the ultimate flexibility of ad-hoc or day-to-day supply shifts, we have immediate opportunities available.
We are recruiting adaptable and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supply pool, supporting outstanding specialist schools, alternative provisions, and academy trusts across Peterborough.
This role is perfectly suited for experienced SEND support staff, care workers looking to transition into education, psychology students seeking practical classroom experience, or anyone with a natural capacity for patience and a desire to make a difference.
The Ultimate Flexibility:
Ad-Hoc & Day-to-Day Supply: Take absolute control of your working week. Use our app or chat with your consultant to set your availability week-by-week. It is ideal for fitting around family life, studies, or other commitments-simply turn up, support the learners, and leave work at the school gates.
- Diverse Experience: Work across different specialist settings, age groups, and needs, building a fantastic and varied skillset.
What the Roles Involve:
Supporting pupils with a wide spectrum of additional needs, including Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Assisting the class teacher in delivering sensory-based and highly differentiated learning activities.
Utilising Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and proactive de-escalation strategies to handle challenging behaviours calmly and safely.
Helping pupils develop functional communication skills (often working alongside non-verbal learners using PECS or Makaton) and independent life skills.
What We Are Looking For:
A resilient, warm, and highly patient personality-specialist settings require individuals who remain calm under pressure.
Previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs, vulnerabilities, or complex behaviours (professional, voluntary, or personal experience is valued).
An adaptable mindset, ready to step into new classroom environments and quickly build rapport with staff and pupils.
A valid Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one immediately).
What Is in it for You?
Competitive daily rates of pay, processed weekly.
Complete flexibility-only work on the days you choose, with no weekend or evening commitments.
Free access to specialist CPD training modules, including safeguarding updates and introductory autism awareness courses.
A dedicated local consultant who understands the Peterborough specialist education sector to guide you to the right schools.
Ready to step into a flexible role with genuine purpose?
Join our Peterborough support team and start making an impact on your own terms.
