Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can offer vulnerable young people a genuine fresh start?
We are seeking a resilient, empathetic, and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term placement at our specialist Alternative Provision centre in Lancing.
We firmly believe that education is a lifelong process. We acknowledge that there may have been obstacles and past events that have blocked our pupils' educational progress. With this in mind, our mission is to address both the social and emotional needs of our pupils alongside, and in conjunction with, their educational needs.
If you are passionate about helping secondary-aged students overcome barriers to learning, this is the perfect opportunity to make a tangible impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Holistic Support: Provide 1:1 and small group intervention for pupils navigating social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
Tailored Learning: Assist in delivering personalised learning packages that accommodate past educational disruptions or medical needs.
De-escalation & Engagement: Use positive behaviour management strategies to defuse challenging behaviours and rebuild pupil confidence.
Inclusion Support: Collaborate with the wider class team, Blended Learning Team, and external inclusion partners to prepare students for their next educational chapter.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience: A background supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, ADHD, or ASC (within an Alternative Provision, PRU, or mainstream inclusion setting is highly desirable).
Mindset: A non-judgmental, patient approach and a firm belief in "fresh starts."
Skills: Strong communication, resilience, and the ability to build quick, trusted rapport with disengaged teenagers.
Reliability: Commitment to a long-term role to provide vital stability for our students.
What We Offer:
Competitive Pay: £92.56 - £95.00 per day (dependent on experience).
Stability: A guaranteed long-term position in a supportive, collaborative setting.
Professional Growth: Hands-on experience working alongside specialist inclusion teams and alternative education experts.
Impact: The opportunity to transform the educational path of young people who need it most.
How to Apply:
If you have the resilience and heart to thrive in an alternative provision environment, we want to hear from you today.
