Post-16 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Start: May/June 2025 (temp-to-perm September 2025)
Rate: £14.61-£15.38 ph (tbc)
Contract: Full time, term-time only

About the role
Join a brand-new, specialist post-16 provision supporting students (16-19) with EHCPs, high-functioning ASD and diverse learning needs. You'll help deliver three distinct curriculum pathways, focusing on GCSEs, wellbeing and Preparation for Adulthood, in a college-style environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support small groups and 1:1 students in academic and wellbeing sessions (e-safety, RSE, British Values)

• Help students set and achieve personal and academic targets

• Assist with on-site and off-site learning experiences (work placements, community projects)

• Foster independence, confidence and social skills

• Contribute to training and preparation before official opening in September

• Experience or interest in supporting young people with autism/additional needs

• Calm, adaptable and proactive approach

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to inclusive education and positive behaviour support
