Post-16 Teaching Assistant
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Start: May/June 2025 (temp-to-perm September 2025)
Rate: £14.61-£15.38 ph (tbc)
Contract: Full time, term-time only
About the role
Join a brand-new, specialist post-16 provision supporting students (16-19) with EHCPs, high-functioning ASD and diverse learning needs. You'll help deliver three distinct curriculum pathways, focusing on GCSEs, wellbeing and Preparation for Adulthood, in a college-style environment.
Key responsibilities
Support small groups and 1:1 students in academic and wellbeing sessions (e-safety, RSE, British Values)
Help students set and achieve personal and academic targets
Assist with on-site and off-site learning experiences (work placements, community projects)
Foster independence, confidence and social skills
Contribute to training and preparation before official opening in September
What we're looking for
Experience or interest in supporting young people with autism/additional needs
Calm, adaptable and proactive approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to inclusive education and positive behaviour support
